It’s great to see the reception that my submissions link and soundcloud dropbox have been receiving lately. Tonight and tomorrow I’m going to focus on all of those tracks and get them out to your ears because they all deserve to be heard. The first song tonight was a nice surprise to find. It comes from San Francisco’s BEΔCH HEΔRT and I’m completely digging the vibe. Issac Mingo has been hard at work, having just put out his self titled ep late last month and already he’s produced another great track. “The World Is Ours” has already become my favorite of his and in such a short amount of time he’s began to further improve his signature style of hazy reverb filled chillwave. This song is extremely catchy with it’s fuzzy synth and vocals which are backed by a relaxing tropical dream pop like atmosphere. I hope that this means there’s more to come in the near future because I’m even more of a fan after hearing this. To listen to more from BEΔCH HEΔRT just head over to his soundcloud page. Beach Heart‘s self titled new double sided EP is set for release on the 20th March. To be honest, I’ve had so much chillwave shoved in my face for the past 6 months I’m sick to death of beach hippy, lomography loving Toro Y Moi wanna-be’s. Lucky then, that Beach Heart’s darker take on the genre distances himself from the sickeningly sweet taste that most teenie bopping chillwave merchants subscribe to. So check out two sick tracks on his soundcloud page, and wait for the drop on March 20th when his EP will be made available to download for a pocket money price of $1.

i’m releasing two songs digitally on 3/20/12!! you’ll be able to get them on my bandcamp page for the low, low price of $1!

the only reason i’m charging anything is that i’ll be using the proceeds to help fund a vinyl 7” pressing of the songs that i’ll hopefully be releasing by the summer.

there’s a really cool video for one of the songs too, which i may premiere before the release!

BE∆CH HE∆RT is the moniker of Isaac Mingo who just dropped “Feels Like the Sun”. Hailing from the warm state of San Francisco, it kind of makes sense because everything, from the name of the track to the sound coming out of it exudes the kind of warmth and haziness you’d expect from a hot day on the beach. Just the fuzzed-out vocal stylings alone bolsters the ability to completely melt your brain away much like the sounds of the circuit-melting breakdown—it’s that effective. I’m wrapping up a week spent being besotted with Isaac Mingo’s music by posting a brand new track of his. Earlier on, I’d been basking in the twisted, haunting sound of ‘Sky Shatters’, but now we’re all subjected to a warmer glow, one that rejoices in simplicities rather than mystery. Mingo’s voice is clearer, the beat is more conventional and the elevated synths go hand in hand with what most passers by might tag as a “chillwave” effort. ‘Feels Like The Sun’ is not all cuddly, beach-affiliated warmth, though. Take its dark closing section as an example. Once more, we’re given slight hints as to Mingo’s more sinister side.
